I am happy because:

  • It was book club tonight, and I had the wonderful privilege of sitting with some wonderful ladies, discussing books and authors, and just enjoying the company.  I always feel uplifted, inspired, and excited when I leave book club.  And I have some books on my “to-read” list!
  • Silly Penelope sat in the sink and got wet from head to toe!  Earlier today she knocked down a bottle of shampoo, which covered her entire back and then dried there.  (I discovered it when I got home from work.)  So, today my sweet kitty gave herself a bath!  LoL  She is now grooming herself dry, purring away.  She’s such a nice little fluffy-face!  I love her!
  • I got my car back today, and it’s in tip-top shape!  I’m thrilled to have it back, and to have returned the car my ex and his wife had lent to me.  I’m grateful they lent me a car, but more grateful that I got mine back!  I missed my little white put-put!

I am happy because:

  • The children are finally home.  I’ve missed them so much, and they definitely missed me, too.  The went to bed super early tonight, and fell asleep moments later!
  • It’s almost pumpkin-time!  I love the fall!  And I love pumpkins!
  • I have spell check.  I’m so tired I can’t spell or type worth a darn!

I am happy because:

  • I had a wonderful sabbath day, full of spiritual guidance and affirmation.  Full of inspiration, and comfort, and peace.
  • I saw my beautiful children today briefly, and we sure miss each other.  It’s a nice feeling, being missed.  It makes me feel appreciated!
  • Tomorrow evening my kids will be home again, after having been gone for longer than I can stand!  I’m so glad they will be getting home!
  • Walmart had pillows for $3 each, so I bought the kids all brand-new pillows on Saturday!
  • Only one week until the fuzzle-heads that I am babysitting will finally go home!  They are super destructive!  LoL  I can’t wait to have my apartment in one piece again!
  • I love Bounce dryer bars!

I am happy because:

  • Things definately happen for you.  I see it every day!  Sometimes it’s easier to see than at other times, it really all depends on how willing we are to look, and not only look, but see what He is trying to show us, and not what we are hoping to find.
  • My apartment is getting cleaner every day!  I am glad that I’ve had the time to get things done around the house, and I’m grateful for the circumstances that forced me into spending so much more time alone here with nothing else to do!
  • Tomorrow is Sunday, and I love Sunday!  I can’t wait to feel the unique spirit that one feels in sacrament meeting when one takes the sacrament!  I can’t wait to sing the hymns with all the feeling and enthusiasm of my heart!  I am just so excited for Sunday!

I am happy because:

  • My laptop got wet this morning, but somehow did not get ruined!  I’m grateful for small miracles!
  • Because I chose not to put away my clean and folded laundry last night, this morning I have dry clothing to wear.
  • The maintenance dudes came a little bit ago, and said they would have to cut holes in my ceiling to repair the leak.  This gives me an excuse for sleeping in my son’s bedroom, which always gets the best air-conditioning in the house!

I am happy because:

  • My car waited to break down until after I was able to have a M&M with my sweet Becca.  We really needed some time together.  Watching a movie might not seem like quality time to some, but for us it is.  She snuggled up to me like she used to do when she was little, and it was nice to just cuddle on each other during the film.  I love my Becca Boo, and I don’t think she often feels it from me at times.  I am so glad we had the time, alone, but together, tonight.
  • My car breaking down didn’t happen TO me.  It happened FOR me.  Everything happens FOR you.  It’s up to you to figure out what you are supposed to gain or learn from the experience.  For me, I think it’s learning to accept help when it’s offered, because I don’t like to do that very much.  And I think I’m supposed to learn to ask for help, because I absolutely hate having to do that!  I like to think of myself as being capable of providing for myself, and for my family, and when I am unable to do so without help, well, it stings.  So, I think it’s also to learn how to let go of my pride.  Because I’m chock full of that nasty, and I need to let it go.
  • The kids are staying with their dad and step-mom tonight, so I don’t have to figure out how to get them to and/or from school tomorrow.  All I need to do is find a ride to and from work tomorrow, instead, and it’s a short shift (only 3 hours) in the afternoon, and a very short shift (1 hour) in the evening.  I should be able to manage that, I hope!  I’m so glad that I don’t have to handle the kids’ things tomorrow, however!  There’s school, after-school clubs/activities, and that pool party at Shep. JHS, too.  Too much, too much!  How lucky it is that they are with their dad and step-mom!  Whew!

I am happy because:

  • There are so many reasons to BE happy!  I’d love to list them all right now, but my medications have kicked in bigtime, and I’m about to fall asleep in my chair!

I am happy because:

  • My kitty and the meows that I am babysitting, are being babysat by my favorite vet, and very good friend, tonight so that when the apartment is bug-bombed and inspected tomorrow, they will be well out of harms way.
  • My dishes are done.  And my laundry is done.
  • The weather tonight is beautiful, complete with a small sprinkle of rain!  Love it!

I am happy because:

  • My laundry has all been washed, and now only needs folding and putting away.
  • My washing machine and dryer are in good working order.
  • My flat tire was repaired free of charge because I have that Discount Tire warranty.
  • The weather outside is perfect, outside of a lot of dust.
  • I spent a lot of time outside tonight.
  • Penny keeps trying to pounce on the shadows on the wall.
  • The apartment is probably going to stay clean after I clean it this week.
  • My ex’s wife has been really wonderful lately.
  • I like my ex’s wife, she and I have a lot more in common than I first realized.
  • I have a job, even if right now I’m not 100% enamored with it.
  • Penny knocked over a box of shredded wheat, and is eating up the cereal bits that spilled.  It’s very comical.
  • I have a medicine cupboard that has lots of Tylenol, and some cold/flu medicine, both of which I need.
  • I have leftovers in the fridge.  Good ones!
  • My bed looks really comfy.
  • There will be time this week to finish one of my biggest UFOs, I hope.
  • If I am feeling better tomorrow, I will get to go to book club and see some of my friends!
  • I am craving salad, not cookies.
  • My thyroid levels are finally where they are supposed to be, and I won’t have to redo my thyroid blood work for another 6 months!
  • My next mammogram will be the last every-six-months mammogram that I have to get, so long as it’s clean.  Then I go every year instead!
  • I was able to find more happies than I thought I’d be able to find!  Yay!  This really works!

I am happy because:

  • My house is almost clean.  The family room, dining room, and kitchen are in pretty good shape, and by the end of tomorrow the bathrooms and my bedroom will be nice and neat.  At least, that’s the goal!
  • I had a lovely nap today with my sweet Penelope all cozied up in my neck.  I love that little kitty, she makes me smile.
  • There is a smell in the air of rain, or the potential for rain.  I love that smell, and I hope that it does rain tonight, because we really need it, and because I love to listen to it, feel it, and dance in it!
