I am happy because:
- Today work went well, and it was over fairly quickly. Tomorrow I work a half day (Robbie has an appointment) and I have Saturday and Sunday off for General Conference! Yay! I am looking forward to conference this year, I need some personal revelation like nobody’s business!
- Amber’s 14th birthday is Saturday! Hooray! My little girl is growing up way too fast! But I’m so very proud of the young woman that she is becoming. I’m really blessed.
- Robbie’s been on his new medications for about a month now, and he hasn’t had a major meltdown the entire time! Wow, I didn’t realize it until I sat down to think about it. He’s had minor meltdowns, but nothing that has put the brakes on everything for everyone, like he used to have. And, also, he hasn’t had a single ticket (citation at school) this whole time, either. It’s a miracle what meds can do!

I am happy because:
- The angels (recently blessed me with a beautiful Janome machine) came just in the nick of time! As soon as I got my new machine I have had several inquiries about quilt commissions! This is great! I have to get my act together and figure out how much to charge, and rules about the orders. Not a position I ever really saw myself in! I’m thrilled! (And nervous, too.) I quoted $400-500 per quilt . . . depending on materials and complexity of the pattern. We’ll see if it pans out!
- I’m working on a quilt for Becca right now, or was yesterday, and I am excited because tomorrow I will have a chance to work on it a little more! Yay! I have so much to get done! I’m still cutting out pieces!
- Tomorrow is Thursday, which means I am one day closer to Friday. And Friday means I’m one day closer to a day off! Yay! I have Saturday off, for General Conference, and I’m so glad! And then I get Sunday off as well! Woot, woot! Two days in a row! I’m so glad! It’ll be nice to rest a bit, I can even sleep in until 7 a.m.! It’s gonna be nice!

I am happy because:
- Tonight I get to go to a parent meeting with Amber for Close-Up. Close-Up is awesome, Amber is going to see so many incredible things on this trip! I’m so very proud of her for the hard work she had to do in order to turn things around and qualify for this thing! It makes me so happy to know that she can apply herself like this, when she really wants to, and that she will get to have this awesome experience!
- I came up with excellent consequences for Becca, who has had a chronic lying problem and a chronic bullying (towards the siblings, hopefully to no one else) problem. I think that this might work. I have the ex and his wife’s co-operation with it, so I think that it will. I think I can be pretty creative with discipline sometimes, in ways that work for our family situation.
- Cold cereal for dinner tonight, and I don’t feel bad about it at all. It’s high fiber, whole grain, with very little sugar. And it’s got heart-healthy almond milk. And they will have full tummies. And there will be hardly any dishes to worry about, which makes my evening just a little bit easier. Yay! Hurrah for cold cereal!

I am happy because:
- Today I won a gift card for The Pleated Poppy.
- I got a really good start on Becca’s birthday quilt, although I still have far to go!
- Overall, today was a pretty good day. I’m pretty sure Robbie didn’t break his hand. I will be able to replace my recently busted camera with a credit I have at Bookmans. And I didn’t throttle any obnoxious clients. Yep, pretty good.

I am happy because:
- When I was struggling with making myself go to a certain client’s house today, I called my mom and she let me vent about it a bit. And then she used her awesome sense of humor and uber coping skills, and I was able to get through the rest of my work day melt-down free. My mom is awesome, I love her so much!
- I have a cell phone with which to make calls to my mommy when my day is in danger of getting wrecked. I love having this little cell phone!
- My washing machine is fixed, thanks to one totally awesome home teacher! I can’t believe what a blessing having a home teacher (that shows up) has been! In more ways that just fixing things when they need fixing, but also the kids get a chance to see what an upright man looks like, and they get to see the priesthood in action. Yay us!

I am happy because:
- Two of my favorite quilting blogs (Piecemeal Quilts and Grey Cat Quilts) are making a skill builder series! I’m excited, because I sometimes struggle learning things off of the internet, many times bloggers assume you know everything there is to know (acronyms and techniques), when some of us never used a sewing machine until very recently.
So this will be a good thing for me, and I’m totally making a sampler quilt from this project! Yay! - I’ve recieved direct direction (lol – weird word combo) for my family about my employment, and while it isn’t an easy thing for me to accept it, I realize that I promised to do what He asked of me if He would only tell me what I’m supposed to do. It doesn’t do a person any good to try to ignore something like that, no matter how much you want to maybe change the answer to something else in another direction. There is a reason for everything, and it’s my duty to put a smile in my heart and do what I’m asked. So, it’s a definate happy . . . I just need to let it.
- I’ve possibly got a fixed washing machine. I’ll find out tomorrow when I try to wash something in it after the YW conference thingy with Amber (and Becca).

I am happy because:
- The weather today was absolutely perfect. If I had a lawn chair, I would have sat outside all afternoon enjoying it! I hope it’s just as nice tomorrow as it was today!
- I went to the DollarTree and picked up $12 in Easter goodies for the kids’ baskets. All that’s left now can wait until just before Easter . . . we are going to color eggs about 2 or 3 days before. And we have a wonderful scripture egg hunt, it’s going to be good!
- I got my paycheck today, which I can deposit tomorrow. Yay for having a job!

I’m happy because:
- I survived an awkward evening with the ex, his wife, and his family, celebrating a birthday in the house that is soon to be his, that was once our dream, then his dream, then my nightmare. I managed. And I didn’t eat any icecream afterwards, so I didn’t add any poundage.
- I have a little pay-as-you-go phone, and it’s been fun to fiddle with today.
- I have a beautiful machine in the other room, just waiting for me to get over my fear and use it. I plan to do so this weekend.
